Gottfried Helnwein

There is a woman' face with a rock climbing cable running down across her nose. There is a man climbing her face near her eyebrows. The scale between the two is insanely large. I think it is a man scaling a billboard. This is because her face doesn't look like it has enough depth compared to the climber. This makes it appear as a person climbing a blown up photo of the woman. I think it is both a documentary and a artistic image. The qualities of the photo both show action and a more creative visual. I do think elements of it were photoshopped to make it look like a real face not a airbrushed photo.
I think the meaning is perspective and how you view the world. I think the intent was to fool the eye into seeing a man climbing the woman's face.
The image says to me that sometimes you need to just change your perspective on things to get the bigger picture. The difference in scale is that the man is so much smaller than the woman, this adds contrast to the photo, drawing your eye to the man.

Minimalism Phase 1

1. Minimalism in photography is based around simplicity in the subject or subject of the photograph. Ideally, the photograph should mainly contain solid colors and should refrain from patterns that are too loud or busy. The subject should be simple and not contain anything that would make it complex. 2.  The white and green compliment each other well. It is appealing to look at and doesn't have motion or busy patterns. The colors are calming and the there is one subject. The water is clear and the balance of the photo is nice from top to bottom. The warm colors look really nice with the mans more yellow skin tone and his outfit. The clean line really pulls the simplicity of the photo together.

Cubism Reflection

1. I chose the subject for my photo because I thought in the dark the pool had a lot more interesting colors from the lights in the pool, and I could use flash to make a more interesting composition. 2. I took 29 different photos for this project to try to make a abstract recreation of my pool over the original image using the new photos 3. The challenge I encountered is sometimes when I was putting the photo together, i forgot to take a picture from an angle I needed. 4. I would pick a more round/organic shaped subject to do my project with.
